Continuous Refinery Plant
We design and install turnkey continuous refinery plants for businesses requiring high-capacity, continuous production. We design the processes taking into account product quality, energy efficiency…
Continuous refinery plants are process systems used to produce refined oil at high capacities by passing crude vegetable oil through the refining stages in a continuous, controlled product flow.
Özmodern Makina designs continuous refinery plants taking into account the properties of the crude oil, daily production capacity, target end-product quality, energy consumption and operating conditions, and carries out every stage of the plant in an integrated manner — from manufacturing machinery and process equipment to installation, automation and commissioning.
In continuous operation, the oil moves steadily between process equipment at defined flow rates, temperatures, pressures, vacuum levels and dosing values. The aim, especially in high-capacity plants, is to achieve a regular product flow, repeatable process conditions, a high level of automation and effective energy recovery.

Key Operational Benefits
High-Capacity, Uninterrupted Production
Since the oil moves continuously through the different process stages, continuous systems provide a suitable structure for regular, uninterrupted production at high daily capacities. By reducing batch filling, processing and emptying cycles, equipment utilization can be increased.
Stable and Repeatable Process Conditions
Flow, temperature, pressure, vacuum, chemical dosing and other key process parameters can be continuously monitored and controlled. Under suitable raw material and operating conditions, this supports reduced variability in product quality and more repeatable refining conditions.
High Level of Automation
Continuous refinery plants can be designed to be monitored and managed via a central automation system. Flow, temperature, level, pressure, vacuum, chemical dosing, pumps and control valves can be managed automatically according to the process scenario, reducing operator intervention and simplifying process monitoring.
Effective Heat Recovery
One of the key advantages of a continuous refinery is continuous heat transfer between the hot and cold oil streams in the process. In particular, the energy of the high-temperature oil leaving the deodorizing section can be used via economizer heat exchangers to preheat the cooler oil entering the process. Re-using process energy in this way reduces steam and cooling loads and increases overall energy efficiency.
Control of Energy Consumption
By evaluating heat recovery, correct heat exchanger selection, a suitable vacuum system and optimized process temperatures together, the aim is to reduce the plant's energy consumption per unit of product. Especially at high capacities, even small energy savings can create significant economic value in annual operating costs.
Continuous, Controlled Product Flow
Transferring the oil continuously between process equipment at defined flow rates reduces tank filling and emptying cycles and helps production run more smoothly. By designing the flows at different points in the process to work in harmony, the aim is a balanced use of plant capacity.
Less Operator Intervention
By including automatic control valves, pumps, flow meters, temperature and pressure transmitters, level control systems and other instrumentation in the process automation, many operations can be carried out automatically. This supports less manual operation and less operator-dependent process variability.
Capacity-Specific Process and Equipment Design
In continuous refinery plants, not only the capacity of the main equipment but also tank volumes, heat exchanger surfaces, filter capacities, pump flow rates, pipe diameters, the vacuum system, cooling system and auxiliary facilities are evaluated within the overall process balance, so that the entire plant works in harmony at the target capacity.
Continuous Monitoring of Product Quality
With samples taken at critical points in the process and operating parameters monitored via the automation system, production performance can be continuously evaluated. Where necessary, process parameters can be adjusted to maintain the target refined oil specifications.
Operating Economics at High Capacities
Taking continuous operation, high automation, energy recovery and regular product flow together makes it possible to optimize operating costs per ton, especially in high-capacity plants. Continuous refinery systems are therefore a strong refining solution for companies planning long-term, high-capacity production.
- A complete process approach: A continuous refinery is an integrated production line in which not only the main process equipment but also reactors, separators, heat exchangers, filters, crystallization systems, deodorizer columns, vacuum systems, process tanks, pumps, piping, instrumentation, electrical and automation systems work together.
Özmodern Makina designs the entire system by evaluating process and energy balances together, ensuring that the different sections of the plant work in harmony with one another.
